An expert on the Subcontinent issues has said that Iran-Pakistan relations are not influenced by the coming and going of governments and the states can only regulate this relationship.

Nozar Shafie said in remarks to ILNA that “basically, important parts of Pakistani society, including politicians and people of this country, have a positive attitude towards Iran.”

He asserted that Iran's relationship with Pakistan should be based on a good neighborly policy, adding that “Pakistani society has the potential to have a privileged relationship with Iran, but there are also destructive factors that can affect the relationship.”

He noted that Pakistan has its special issues with Afghanistan and it is not that this country regulates its relations with Kabul in accordance with conflicts with Iran or alignment with another country.

“So I want to say that Pakistan has its special considerations toward Afghanistan and these considerations do not influence Islamabad's relations with the other countries,” he added.

He said that “from this perspective, Afghanistan is an opportunity. And Iran can solve the disagreements of its two neighbors.”

He concluded that Iran-Pakistan relations are not influenced by the coming and going of governments and the states can only regulate this relationship.
