Iran targets $3b worth of trade with Kazakhstan in 3 years
A senior official at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran announced that the country has targeted three billion dollars worth of trade exchange with Kazakhstan for the next three years.
Rahmatollah Khormali, director of department of Central Asia, Russia and Caucasus at TPO, made the remarks while referring to the recent travel of the Kazakh president to Iran which led to signing trade agreement between Tehran and Nur-Sultan.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Tehran on Sunday morning (June 19) and was welcomed by his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi at Saadabad cultural complex, northern Tehran.
Elaborating on bilateral cooperation, Khormali said the volume of exchange between the two countries has been 60 million dollars' worth during the first two months of the Iranian calendar year started on March 21, 2022.
During the mentioned period, the two most exchanged foodstuff, construction materials and agricultural products, the official noted.
He went on to say that exports of engineering and technical services are seen as new field of exchange.
In coming days, Iran will hold a specialized exhibition to export technical services to Kazakhstan, Khormali added.
Establishment of trade markets in Kazakhstan is among policies of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, he underlined.
As Kazakhstan is among main founders of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Iran’s interactions with this Union will develop in the future, he stressed.
The EAEU members include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
