An expert on international affairs Morteza Makki said on Wednesdays that U.S. President Donald Trump’s firing of his national security adviser John Bolton pointed to the failure of Washington’s strategy against Iran.

Speaking to ILNA news agency, he said “Iran Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had predicted the collapse of Team B.”

Zarif has in the past said that a so-called “B-team” including Bolton, an ardent Iran hawk, and conservative Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could goad Trump into a conflict with Tehran.

“Maybe it can be said that departure of the first member of Team B is a result of crown prince of Abu Dhabi Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's efforts to lessen tensions with Iran.”

Makki added that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also ease some of his anti-Iranian policies after facing Iran's Revolutionary Guard shot down a US drone.

John Bolton, a US foreign policy hawk with close personal and official ties with the terrorist organization Mujahedin e Khalq (MEK/MKO), based in Albania, had long favored a regime change in Iran.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said on behalf of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif that Iran does not make comment on the US domestic affairs concerning the ouster of John Bolton, the US national security advisor.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, in an April interview with Fox News, accused Bolton of "dragging the United States into a conflict."

"I do not believe that President Trump wants to do that, I believe President Trump ran on a campaign promise of not bringing the United States into another war," Zarif said.

Also, Iran government spokesman Ali Rabiei said that with Bolton gone, Donald Trump can have a better understanding of the realities of Iran.
