Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the sentences of economic saboteurs should be issued quickly and fairly, recommending courts to take necessary care while handing down verdicts.
Iran's top Leader made the remarks in response to a letter sent to him by Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani seeking permission to take special measures to decisively and rapidly confront those disrupting the national economy, according to the law.
In his letter, Larijani referred to the economic warfare launched against the Islamic Republic by its enemies and wrongdoings of certain economic saboteurs in line with the goals of the enemies, asking for the Leader's permission to take special actions to decisively confront those disrupting the economic system of the Islamic Republic, according to the law.
The letter also proposed that suspension or commuting the sentences of economic saboteurs be banned.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution agreed to Larijani's proposal , stressing that the economic saboteurs must be punished quickly and fairly.
