Iran’s Foreign Ministry sharply condemned the United States for repeated violations of the ceasefire and continued acts of aggression against the Islamic Republic, warning that Washington’s attacks and threats are pushing the region toward deeper instability while eroding the very foundations of international law.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaei on Thursday strongly condemned the United States’ repeated violations of the ceasefire, including a military attack targeting areas in Bandar Abbas, stressing that the UN Security Council bears a legal and moral responsibility to hold Washington accountable for its unlawful actions.

Baqaei denounced the US military aggression carried out in the early hours of Thursday against areas in southern Iran, describing the attacks as a blatant violation of Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty, as well as a clear breach of international law and the principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman emphasized that the continuation of such acts of aggression, alongside Washington’s repeated disregard for ceasefire commitments reached on April 9, reflects a dangerous pattern of destabilizing behavior by the United States in the region.

Referring to recent American attacks on commercial shipping routes in the Persian Gulf and international waters, as well as airstrikes targeting southern Iranian territories in recent days, Baqaei stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains fully determined to exercise its legitimate right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter in order to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

He further condemned the escalating rhetoric of senior American officials against Iran and other regional countries, warning that threats and intimidation have become a hallmark of Washington’s foreign policy.

Baqaei also expressed Iran’s solidarity with Oman after US President Donald Trump reportedly threatened to “blow up” the Arab country, praising Muscat’s longstanding role in promoting regional dialogue, diplomacy, and stability.

“Threatening to destroy a United Nations member state that has consistently played a constructive, responsible, and peace-oriented role in the region constitutes not only a flagrant violation of the principle prohibiting the threat or use of force, but also a deeply alarming sign of the growing normalization of coercion, bullying, and lawlessness in international relations,” he said.

The spokesman reaffirmed that Iran will continue to pursue all necessary measures to defend its people and national interests in the face of ongoing American aggression and destabilizing policies.
