Iran invites international community to increase efforts in Yemen's peace; Foreign Ministry

Iran's Foreign Ministry called for boosting attempt in alleviating the pain of Yemeni's people.

In second anniversary of so-called coalition forces’ aggression on Yemen, Iran’s Foreign Ministry in a statement condemning the evident assault on the Yemeni territory and sovereignty called for prompt ending of the conflict and offensives in the nation. The statement is as follows:

“Two years have passed since the start of a failed and devastating attack and waging of an ongoing war on Yemeni’s people. A war that, according to UN and international organization officials, have so far claimed the lives of thasounds Yemeni, including women and children, have made 18 million other civilians displaced and more than 8 million other on the verge of famine and hunger.

Deliberate destruction of the impoverished country's infrastructures with empty promises of returning hope and the continuous shelling of educational and medical centers and facilities were among the result of the unfair offenses. Needless to say that no one would benefit from protraction of current situation and the existing conflict would definitely cause further instability and insecurity in the region.

The void of power that has been resulted from the military conflicts and bloodsheds in Yemen, has prepared the ground for the growth of pernicious phenomenon of terrorism and raise in the terroristic groups’ activities in different areas of the country, a fact that has threatened stability and security of the region and international community.

The Islamic Republic, in its proposed four-article plan, has so far, called for an immediate stop to the ongoing conflict, dispatching humanitarian aid to the war torn areas, elevating unfair economic and human occupation of the Yemeni people and the start of political talks and efforts in forming national unity government. Iran would invite international government to enhance its attempt in alleviating the pain and the agony of Yemeni people, particularly women and children in the conflict zones".
