Foreign Minister of Syria Faisal Mekdad pointed to the Israeli regime’s failure in hatching plots against his country, warning that the regime is seeking to create a crisis in Iran.

In a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Mekdad referred to the “bitter results” of foreign interference in Syria under the pretext of supporting human rights.

Highlighting the failure of the Zionist regime and its supporters to hatch plots and create crises against the Syrian government and propel, Mekdad said, “They are seeking to cause crisis against the independent states, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

The top Syria diplomat also warned that the US and the West want Iran to become ruined and dependent, not prosperous, developed and independent.

“Everybody saw what the US and its allies did to Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan,” Mekdad added.

For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian reaffirmed Tehran’s principled and logical stances in support of Palestine, the resistance front, and the Syrian government and nation.

He underlined that the political pressures and propaganda campaigns could by no means undermine the Iranian government and nation’s determination to follow the path to progress, independence and dignity, protect the stability and security of regional countries, and counter foreign interference and the Zionist regime’s acts of aggression.

The Iranian nation will thwart the enemies’ plots vigilantly, he stated.

Elsewhere in the conversation, the two foreign ministers stressed the need to promote the relations between Iran and Syria, especially the economic and trade ties.
