Araghchi: Iran Concerned About Any US Presence in Its Neighborhood
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said Tehran was concerned about any US presence in its surrounding region, adding that Iran was in direct contact with Armenian officials over the TRIPP project and was confident that Armenia would take no action against Iran’s security.
Speaking in response to a question about the presence of US forces and the TRIPP project, Araghchi said Iran remained concerned about any US presence in its neighboring region but was in direct contact with its Armenian counterparts on the issue.
“We will continue our consultations with Armenian officials,” he added. “My good friend Ararat Mirzoyan visited Tehran, and we held productive talks. Today, President Masoud Pezeshkian will also meet with the Armenian prime minister.”
