US President Donald Trump is trying to blackmail the participants in the deal, but Russia has no reasons to make any amendments in the deal, said the Russian representative to the European Union.

'It is difficult to consider Trump’s recent statements as anything other than an attempt to blackmail the European participants in the deal,' said Vladimir Chizhov, according to TASS.

Chizhov also stressed that Moscow did not see any reason for amending the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as Iran nuclear deal.

'The IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) is the one to verify the implementation of the document,' the Russian diplomat said, noting that IAEA officials 'have said many times that Iran has been abiding by the terms of the deal.'

Trump has recently (January 12) re-affirmed the waiver of sanctions on Iran, but has said that that would be the last time and urged the EU to join the US.
