The former representative of Iran to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation said that "by monitoring regional and international developments on a daily basis, Saudi Arabia has regulated its behavior and doesn’t feel the necessity of speeding up the process of reducing tensions with Iran in the current condition."

Pointing to the recent developments between Iran and Saudi Arabia, Sabah Zangeneh in an exclusive interview with ILNA described the process of decision making in Saudi Arabia as being based on Iranian officials' comments.

As regards the Saudi denial of planning for any meeting between Amir Abdullahian and Faisal bin Farhan, he responded that considering the daily developments in the region and the continuation of ceasefire in Yemen, Riyadh doesn’t feel the necessity to hold any high-level meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries any time soon.

He added that due to high oil prices, Saudi Arabia feels that it is in a good situation so it is in no rush to reach a political settlement with Iran.

Answering a question about whether the unwillingness of Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister to meet with his Iranian counterpart has been affected by recent trips of American and Israeli officials to Riyadh, he said that the U.S. and Israel's destructive efforts have overshadowed these negotiations.
