"It is unlikely that Iran will be able to reach to International dialogue through an inter-regional negotiation," a former diplomat Nosratollah Tajik also told ILNA in a recent interview.

He said that there are no such conditions due to Trump administration's policies. "One reason for Trump's withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal is eventually linked to his personal issues and his overall policy of obstinacy with Obama."

The Mail on Sunday reports that UK's former ambassador in the US wrote to Mr Johnson informing him Republican President Trump appeared to be abandoning the nuclear deal for "personality reasons" - because the pact had been agreed by his Democrat predecessor, Barack Obama.

Nosratollah refers to news about French President Emmanuel Macron's trip to Iran and said: "I must say that the French president's visit to Iran is now a speculation, but if it is true, we must examine the reasons for the French to enter this mediation."

"I doubt Americans want France to have a role in the international arena," The former ambassador to Jordan added.

He stressed that a few unsuccessful mediators do not present a good image of Iran to the world.

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Monday he would speak to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Russia’s Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump this week as part of a French initiative to prevent an escalation of tensions in the Middle East.

Iranian Ambassador to France Bahram Qasemi emphasized the fact that diplomacy and negotiations have always been important in Iran's foreign policy, saying French President Emmanuel Macron can play major role in reducing current tensions.

Tajik said in other interview that the new EU-Iran trading mechanism (INSTEX) should be given a chance to work because its long-term benefits both in the fields of economy and politics outweigh its current shortcomings.

Iranian authorities should adopt a "strategic" stance toward INSTEX, or the Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges, as the country's interests do not lie in the unraveling of the 2015 nuclear deal, Nosratollah Tajik also told.
