EU Foreign Policy chief Federica Mogherini said that the P4+1 reached an agreement to maintain Iran oil and gas exports.

“In Vienna, we confirmed our political determination to keep implementing the deal, which is a strategic security interest for the European Union and the world,” Mogherini wrote on her blog on Friday.

“And beyond that, we agreed on actions to maintain Iran’s oil and gas exports, to keep financial channels and trade relations open, to support entrepreneurs who invest in Iran – particularly the small and medium ones,” she added.

She also referred to her meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif saying, “ before I chaired the Commission, I had a long chat with Zarif to discuss the implementation of the deal – which Iran is respecting in full, as certified by the International Atomic Energy Agency.”

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) joint commission meeting was held in Vienna's Cobourg Hotel on Friday to discuss the future of this multilateral agreement.

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini chaired this round of JCPOA joint commission meeting which discussed the 'EU' package of proposals' to Iran following the US unilateral withdrawal from the nuclear deal.

US President Donald Trump announced on May 8 that Washington was walking away from the nuclear agreement.

Trump also said he would reinstate US nuclear sanctions on Iran and impose “the highest level” of economic bans on the Islamic Republic.

Under the JCPOA, Iran undertook to put limits on its nuclear program in exchange for the removal of nuclear-related sanctions imposed against Tehran.
