Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted on Friday that the Islamic Republic is unmoved by U.S. threats following its missile test launch and Tehran will never initiate war.

"Iran unmoved by threats as we derive security from our people. Will never initiate war, but we can only rely on our own means of defence," Zarif tweeted.

Zarif tweets was in response of US President Donald Trump's tweets. He has continued tweet attacks on Iran since Feb. 2. “Iran is playing with fire – they don't appreciate how "kind" President Obama was to them. Not me!,” Trump tweeted Feb. 3.

He also harshly criticized on Feb. 2 the nuclear deal that was reached between Iran and the world powers in 2015, adding that the accord has prevented the “collapse” of the Islamic Republic.

The officials from Iran and the US over the past couple of days have exchanged sharp criticism amid reports on the Islamic Republic’s recent missile tests.

Iran and the world powers in 2015 reached a historic deal on the country's nuclear program removing sanctions on the Islamic Republic in exchange for curbing the country's nuclear program.
