The former Iranian ambassador to India has said that in the situation that India is replacing Iranian oil with the Russian one, recent Iran’s foreign minister to New Delhi was inappropriate.

Ebrahim Rahimpoor has criticized the Iranian Foreign Minister's recent trip to India, saying the timing of this visit regarding the event in India such as the insults that have been made to Islam and the Prophet Muhammad, was a fault.

“India is replacing Iranian oil with the Russian one, and parts of our assets have been blocked in this country. New Delhi has established a very close relationship with Israel,” he added.

He noted that Iran and India's current relations are in a bad shape, saying that the Taliban is the only issue that India is willing to cooperate with Iran on because New Delhi was in a position of weakness since the Taliban had taken power in Afghanistan.

Emphasizing the effect of the Ukraine war that resulted in Russia coveting Iran's share in oil markets, he said that a country like India prefers Moscow over Tehran to have better relations.
