Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, in a telephone conversation with his Iraqi counterpart, stated that the JCPOA revival is close to the final stage of reaching an agreement in Vienna emphasizing that the United States must show its good faith in practice.

The eighth round of Vienna talks on lifting US sanctions against Iran resumed on February 8 in the Austrian capital after an 11-day break for consultations between the delegations and their capitals in the presence of the Iranian and P4+1 delegations (Germany, France, Britain, Russia, and China). It has been held in various levels and formats since then.

Also, the Vienna talks have advanced due to the Iranian side's initiatives. Yet, the Western parties' procrastination to compensate for the US violation of the internationally-signed JCPOA and its ongoing maximum pressure policy against Iran indicate the West's lack of tendency to wrap up the negotiations.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, had a telephone conversation with his Iraqi counterpart, Fouad Hussein, on Monday night, and while congratulating him on Nowruz, he discussed issues of mutual interest between the two countries.

In this telephone conversation about the Vienna talks on lifting the sanctions, Amir Abdollahian emphasized: In the few remaining key issues, we have presented initiatives to the United States through the EU Coordinator; it is now up to the American side to show its good faith in action.

Referring to the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Islamabad, the Iranian Foreign Minister also called on the organization to focus on issues that help strengthen solidarity among the Islamic Ummah.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while reviewing various areas of relations between the two countries, including in the bilateral ties, explained Iran's view on the delay in holding the fifth round of talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia.
