Official: Iran and Austria seek to expand natural tourism

Deputy Minister for Sustainability and Tourism of Austria Günter Liebel announced that the activity of Iran and Austria in the field of natural tourism has increased.

Speaking to ILNA correspondent, she said that I traveled to Iran to sign the memoranda of understanding with Iran on tourism.

“Austria is very active in the field of environmental protection, especially in the fields of ecotourism and national parks.”

The Austrian official confirmed "We have good information about national parks in Iran," adding that we even held meetings with officials and, of course, Iranian environmentalists.

Gunter Label said that in general, Austrian tourists are familiar to the cities such as Isfahan and Shiraz but most of the time the purpose of their trip was to sports and mountain climbing.

Iran and Austria recently signed a protocol on tourism cooperation to further boost the industry in both countries.

The agreement covers a whole range of areas, including the exchange of modern regulations and documents in the field of mountain tourism and nature touring and exchanging experience on advertising and supervision in accordance with European standards.
