Managing director of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC) said that with the political tensions raised between Pakistan and India, 100 flights per day have been added to over-Iran flights and reached over 1,000 flights.

Siavash Amir Mokri added on Sunday, 'The tensions between Pakistan and India have made Afghanistan’s space insecure. For this reason, coordination was made with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Regional Office to allow foreign airliners to use Iran's airspace.'

He went on to say, “The passage of foreign airlines, including Qatari flights from Iran's airspace, has increased the IAC over the past five years.”

Relations between Pakistan and India have been tense since a suicide bombing in Indian-Kashmir killed over 40 Indian soldiers, with New Delhi blaming Pakistan of being complicit in the attack, a charge Islamabad has denied vehemently.
