32nd International Islamic Unity Conference kicks off in Tehran

The 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference opened in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Saturday morning with high-ranking officials from Muslim countries as well as Shiite and Sunni scholars in attendance.

The aim of this three-day international event is to lay the ground for unity and solidarity in the Islamic World and unison among scholars in order to achieve proximity among their scientific and cultural viewpoints.

The 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference was inaugurated by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

The conference came as Muslims are celebrating the Unity Week, which is an annual occasion as a sign of solidarity among different Islamic schools of thought. The birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will start this week on Sunday.

The motto of the conference is ‘Quds pivot of Islamic unity’ and 80 thinkers, scholars and Muftis from Muslim states take part in the 32nd Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran.

The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) is organizer of the 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference.
