Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani said despite US attempts to cut the Iranian crude exports down to zero, Tehran will continue its oil sales.

“The Americans thought they could completely cut Iran’s oil exports, but they realized themselves that this is not possible”, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said at a weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

America has chosen the wrong path in sanctioning Iran and will be defeated, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said.

President Hassan Rouhani remarks was a reaction to waivers the US granted to the major buyers of Iranian crude oil after re-imposing sanctions against Tehran.

He stressed that Iran will manage to defeat the US restrictive measures and continue its oil sales.

Rouhani further emphasized that the US sanctions will fail to affect Iran’s oil sales, saying, “We have so many ways to sell oil, and that will render their sanctions ineffective.”

President Rouhani added "We have many paths for the sale of oil so their sanctions are ineffective. We send very clear signal to the United States that we can sell our oil and our keep our financial ties with the rest of world."

He also noted the Americans will definitely face defeat in the pressure campaign against the Islamic Republic as Iranian government institutions have been “firmly standing against the US.”

The United States announced reinstatement of sanctions targeting Iran’s oil industry last week. In the second round of sanctions against Iran, US targeted 700 individuals, banks, aircraft, ships and companies tied to Iran’s energy and financial industries.
