Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi announced that some terrorists unsuccessfully tried to attack Iran’s embassy in Paris.

Confirming the news of the attack against Iran’s embassy in Paris, Qassemi said, “On Friday afternoon, some anti-Iran terrorists were intended to attack the building of our country’s embassy but they couldn’t make it to enter the building. They desecrated the Iranian flag and hurled stones and different objects at the building, causing damage”.

“The attackers were members of a terrorist group. Unfortunately, the French police wasn’t present at the scene at the time despite normal expectations and related investigations about the French police’s absence and the intention of the attackers are underway,” he added.

“Some of the terrorists were arrested by police after Iranian officials follow ups and we want the terrorist to be prosecuted and expect related officials to announce the results of the trials,” he went on to say.

Qassemi once again reminded that providing the security of diplomatic missions is the duty of hosting country and France is obligated to provide the necessary and serious security measures for Iranian diplomatic missions in its territory.
