Iranian Women Secure Historic First Medal at Asian Gymnastics Championships
The Asian Trampoline Gymnastics Championships, hosted by Hong Kong, continued today and marked the first-ever medal for Iranian women in gymnastics.
In the senior women's synchronized trampoline event, the team of Yalda Hasanshokati and Shaghayegh Cheraghi won the silver medal, becoming Asian vice-champions and securing the first official international medal for Iranian women's gymnastics.
This achievement comes as the Asian Championships represent the first official international appearance of Iranian women gymnasts since the Islamic Revolution.
In the senior women's individual event, Yalda Hasanshokati and Fatemeh Tavasoli finished 4th and 5th in Asia, delivering notable performances.
In the junior men's synchronized trampoline, Aria Akhavan and Emad Balanejad won the bronze medal.
In the senior men's synchronized trampoline, Aria Mamabdollah and Sajjad Kargar finished in 4th place.
In the individual competition for the 15–16 age group, Emad Balanejad placed 4th and Aria Akhavan 6th. Previously, Padra Bazhang had finished 5th in the 13–14 age group.
