The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has issued a statement to place retaliatory sanctions on certain individuals and entities of the European Union.

In a reciprocal act and based on internal mechanisms, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Wednesday to slap sanctions on European individuals and entities due to their support for terrorism, violence, and hatred to trigger riots and counter human rights measures against the Iranian nation.

The aforementioned entities consist of the so-called Friends of Free Iran and their members in the European Parliament; the International Committee in Search of Justice and their members; Stop the Bomb Organization; Deutsche Welle Persian TV network in Germany; RFI Persian TV network in France; International League Against Racism and Anti-Semitism (LICRA); and Germany’s Karl Kolb Company; Rhein Bayern Fahrzeugbau Company in Germany.

According to the statement, the following individuals are also on the sanction list: Aljo Vidal Quadras, president of ISJ; Javier Zarazlejos, co-chairperson of the so-called Friends of Free Iran; Milan Azver, co-chairperson of the so-called Friends of Free Iran; Charlier Weimers, member of European Parliament; Jan Zahradil, member of European Parliament; Helmot Geuking, member of European Parliament; Hermann Tertsch, member of European Parliament; Meyer Habib, member of the National Assembly of France; Matine Valleton, Mayor of Villepinte; Jean Francois Legaret, Former Mayor of Paris District -1; Johannes Boie, editor-in-chief of the Bild-Zeitung (newspaper); Alexandra Würzbach, editor-in-chief of the Bild-Zeitung.

The sanctions include a ban on issuing visas and refusal of the mentioned people’s entering Iran as well as confiscation of their assets in the Islamic country. All Iranian governmental entities will do whatever is needed to place sanctions on European individuals and organizations.

The Islamic Republic reminds the EU and the European governments to hold the entities and individuals accountable for supporting terrorism and riot on Iranian soil. The sanction policy will not hinder the criminal proceedings of the wrongdoers.

The Foreign Ministry repeatedly and categorically condemns the EU’s imposition of sanctions on Iranian entities and individuals based on unfounded accusations, which is apparent intervention in the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic.
