The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) has announced the shutdown of two non-safeguards cameras installed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at Iranian nuclear facilities.

In a statement on Wednesday, the AEOI said it issued orders to relevant authorities to shut down two IAEA cameras whose installation was based not on safeguards cooperation between Iran and the UN nuclear watchdog.

The cameras unplugged by the AEOI were installed as part of the IAEA’s Online Enrichment Monitor (OLEM) program. The Iranian nuclear organization also said the IAEA Flowmeter cameras were shut down.

However, it highlighted that 80% percent of IAEA cameras installed in Iran are related to safeguards cooperation and will continue to work.
