Iran’s foreign minister said that consolidating ties with neighboring countries, Arab states in particular, is a fundamental priority in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Amirabdollahian wrote in a tweet on Tuesday that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was hosted by the Qatari government and the emir of Qatar had warmly welcomed him.

The governmental and popular relations between Iran and Qatar are deep-rooted and have been arranged based on common interests, the foreign minister added.

Consolidating relations with neighboring countries, especially with Arab nations, is a fundamental priority in Iran’s foreign policy, Amirabdollahian said, adding that Iran’s has it hands extended towards neighbors.

President Raisi left for Qatar yesterday for a two-day visit, heading a high-profile delegation. He will attend the GECF and have meetings with heads and officials of participating states.
