Customs spokesman Seyed Ruhollah Latifi has disclosed that 8 million and 45 thousand tons of goods and products worth 5 billion and 378 million American dollars were exchanged between Iran and other countries in the August of this year alone.

Customs spokesman Seyed Ruhollah Latifi has disclosed that 8 million and 45 thousand tons of goods and products worth 5 billion and 378 million American dollars were exchanged between Iran and other countries in the August of this year alone. This brought up the country’s non-oil trade balance up to 1 billion and 263 million dollars, including its export shares of 3 billion and 323 million dollars and import shares of 2 billion and 55 million dollars.

Latifi also told ILNA that the total non-oil trade of Iran in export and import procedures in the 5th month of 1400 (the current year of the Solar Hijri calendar), in terms of weight, was 8 million and 452 thousand tons, which collectively is worth 5 billion and 378 million dollars. The export shares of the last 31 days was 7 million and 142 thousand tons worth three billion and 323 million in dollars, which have seen a 54% increase in value and a 9.5% decrease in weight since the same month of the previous year. 

Regarding the destination of the Iranian goods produced this month, Latifi said China has 34% (2.436 million tons) of the weight and 45% (1.505 million dollars) of the total value of the exports. Compared to July, the August exports have seen a 12% decrease in weight and a 20% increase in value. Latifi also mentioned that the exports to Iraq in this month have also decreased by 18% in weight and 27% in the value of purchased goods when compared to July. 

The other 3 main destinations of exported goods in August were the UAE, with 734 thousand tons worth $285 million (13% decrease in weight and 19% in value); Turkey, with 362 thousand tons worth $184 million (4% increase in weight and 44% decrease in value); and lastly Afghanistan, with 364 thousand tons worth $127 million (12% decrease in weight and 50% in value).
