Iran's Ambassador and Permanent representative to the United Nations Majid Takht Ravanchi said that the legal reasoning by the majority of UN Security Council member-states and the sum-up by its president is rigid and clear on the basis of which the US is not authorized to use the snapback mechanism of the past sanctions.
“Russia has consulted with Europe about the trigger mechanism, but the main problem is the passivity of European countries,” The Russian ambassador to Tehran Levan Dzhagaryan told ILNA news agency.
"We are working on a plan to withdraw from the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) as one possible response", a reformist member of the Iranian parliament Mahmoud Sadeghi told ILNA.
A professor of geopolitical studies Abdolreza Faraji-Rad said that Europeans certainly have no plans to refer Iran's issue to the UN Security Council in the near future.
