Iranian President and Turkish counterpart have emphasized the importance of continued diplomacy, regional peace and expanded bilateral cooperation, while calling for stronger economic ties and sustained efforts to promote stability across the region.
“Turkish government continues to detain those whom Erdogan sees at critical and are thus labeled as terrorists. Just this May over 200 were fired from the Foreign Ministry and detentions,” a Professor of Political Science told ILNA news agency.
Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed the crisis in Syria with Turkish President Recep Tayyep Erdogan during his one-day trip to the country.
