Iran, India discuss developing economic relations

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the Indian Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari reviewed ways of promoting economic ties.

In a meeting which was held Tuesday on the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue which is slated to commence in India.

The Raisina Dialogue is a multilateral conference held in New Delhi annually. Since its inception in 2016, the conference has emerged as India’s flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-economics.

Focusing on bilateral relations, both sides discussed ways to develop economic ties especially in transportation and shipping.

They also reviewed cooperation in Chabahar port.

Iranian Foreign Minister is supposed to deliver speech in a meeting with Indian elites and also in a economic forum which will be held with the attendance of Iranian and Indian economic activists.

Meeting his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj, India's oil minister and India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi are on Zarif's itinerary.
