Iran-Indonesia cooperation is vital and effective to solve Muslim world issues

President Hassan Rouhani underlined on the use of Iran and Indonesia existing capacities and potentialities to develop the mutual ties and to start an economic interaction between the two countries.

In a meeting on Wednesday with visiting Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, he said: "Iran and Indonesia as two big and effective states in the region of the Middle East and South-East Asia can solve the regional and Muslim world issues through consultation and mutual cooperation.

He described Indonesia as an important country in the Islamic world and an old friend for Islamic republic of Iran and noted that "Iran and Indonesia are decisive to develop and expand relations.

Referring to the good potentials for creating a strong economic cooperation between the two countries, Rouhani said: "The emergence of new situation after lifting the economic sanctions previously imposed against Iran, implies that the two countries must do their best to expand and deepen their economic ties through holding a new Joint Economic Commission.
