The U.S. and Israel cannot create a balance against Iran and its regional allies to prevent attacks on Saudi Arabia and the only solution is to reach an agreement through diplomacy, an expert on the region has said.

Riyadh has come to the conclusion that the talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia will not be included in the framework of the JCPOA and it must reach a conclusion independently with Iran, Javad Heyraninia told ILNA.

“Regarding the region, no one can help Riyadh. Israel cannot help Saudi Arabia in Yemen. America can't help either,” he added.

He said that the U.S. and Israel cannot create a balance against Iran and its regional allies to prevent attacks on Saudi Arabia, adding the only solution is to reach an agreement through diplomacy.

The U.S. wants to be present in the region in a way that both focuses on China and prevents possible Israeli attacks in the region after its withdrawal, which will create a vacuum, he said.

None of these alone have the ability to confront Iran unless security cooperation is formed between them, he said, adding “In terms of security cooperation, these countries have different views. One of the important points in convergence is how they define the threat and the second issue is how to deal with the threat.”

Iraq has a situation where if Iran and Saudi Arabia or Iran and the U.S. do not have challenges with each other, it will achieve relative stability, he said, adding that the more Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi soothe tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia on the one hand and between Iran and the U.S. on the other hand, the more Iraq will enjoy stability.
