We are ready to promote comprehensive cooperation with Pakistan, and the Islamic Republic of Iran has the necessary capacity to meet the needs of Pakistan in various fields, including oil, gas and electricity," President Ebrahim Raisi said.

Speaking in a meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday evening, Ayatollah Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi referred to the deep ties between the two nations, which are rooted in centuries of heartfelt ties, and said that the people of Iran and Pakistan are not only neighbours, but also relatives, and added, "Most foreign pilgrims to the shrine of Imam Reza (AS) are Pakistanis and their love for the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) is well-known and this is one of the areas of closeness between the two nations”.

We consider Pakistan's security to be our own security, he said, adding, "Some do not like the good relations between the two Muslim, neighbouring, friendly and brotherly nations, but the development of relations lead to economic prosperity and more security for the nations of the region”.

Emphasising that there are no restrictions in the Islamic Republic of Iran for the development of relations with Islamabad, Dr Raisi added, "We are ready to promote comprehensive cooperation with Pakistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran has the necessary capacity to meet Pakistan's needs in various fields, including oil, gas and electricity”.

Ayatollah Raisi called the fields of energy, transit and cooperation and coordination in regional issues and crises as important aspects of the relations between the two countries and stressed, "Talks on these issues should lead to decisions and documents of cooperation".

Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also expressed satisfaction with the visit to Iran, adding, "As much as I am a child of Pakistan, I am also a child of Iran".

Thanking our country for exporting electricity to Pakistan, the Pakistani Foreign Minister said, "We are fully prepared to complete and conclude the previous talks in the fields of security, trade and energy".

Zardari also referred to the depth of the Pakistanis 'devotion to Imam Reza (AS) and emphasised his country's planning to facilitate the pilgrims' journey to Mashhad.

The Pakistani Foreign Minister also praised the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for its assistance in extinguishing the widespread forest fires in Pakistan's Baluchistan province.
