An expert on the region has said that in the less than two months we will see an opening in relations of Iran and Saudi Arabia if the ceasefire in Yemen remains stable

Qayes Qurayshi said in remarks to ILNA that “whenever the U.S. gets closer to a deal with Iran, Tehran also gets closer to a deal with Saudi Arabia.”

Commenting on the latest round of negotiations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, he said that whenever the prospect of the U.S.-Iran deal has been out of reach, we also witness the retreat of Saudi Arabia from bilateral negotiations with Iran.

He noticed that the relationship between the white house and the president of the U.S. with Mohammad Bin Salman in Saudi Arabia is not dynamic, adding that “ I think we will see radical openings in Iran-Saudi relations in the next few months, especially if Iran reaches an agreement with the United States.”

“According to news and analysis, logically, in the next few weeks and in less than two months, we will see a meeting at the highest level between the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia,” he noted.

He said that if the ceasefire in Yemen remains stable, it can be a good background for the resumption of relations or the beginning of negotiations between Iran and Saudi Arabia at the highest level.

“In the less than two months we will see an opening in relations of Iran and Saudi Arabia if the ceasefire in Yemen remains stable,” he added.
