Deputy Industry Minister, told that automative pricing will be announced by Competition Council in April.

"Mohsen Salehinia", Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade in Industrial Affairs rejecting news about cessation of "KIA Pride" production in this year, announced that none of the country’s automotive production lines would stop manufacturing till year 1397 (which starts on March 2018).

Regarding the situation of automotive pricing in this year, top industrial official told that since automotive is deemed as an excludable good by law, the "Competition Council" is responsible for pricing it.

According to Salehinia, similar to previous years, the council would determine and announce the prices based on inflation, exchange rate and basic material prices’ figures in April.

Salehinia added that on the preceding year, the Industry Ministry stated that regarding the country’s current market situation, excludability of automotive would not be considered any more.

"It has been appointed that the economic council would attend to the appeal and because of the sensitivity of the issue, the decision needs longer time to be made" he underlined.

"Car makers are told to upgrade their standard scales from 57 parameters to 81 in the coming year and if such standards are neglected, their production lines would get suspended", he emphasized.
