Worker House official called privatization as major cause of closing factories.

Secretary-general of Mazandaran Worker’s House, "Nassrollah Daryabeigi", in an interview with ILNA told that privatization process in Mazandaran province caused closing factories and laid off thousands of workers.

According to Daryabeigi, those who subsequently owned the factory didn’t have adequate knowledge of work place and production and only considered maximum benefits as their objectives.

"Later, experiencing their inability in handling the situation, they sold out their factories and invest in estates and lands" he added.

Top worker activist underlined that the province’s workers are currently working in units, running with half of their capacities.

"About 90 percent of these people have temporary contracts which means not having sufficient job protections" he added.

"During last 3 years, the government wasn’t successful enough in revitalizing the factories and returning the workers to their jobs, most of which directly related to anti-production and anti-employment policies of past governments."
