Iran’s foreign trade sees 37% YOY increase in winter

Iran’s foreign trade increased by 37 percent in value in the last winter (December 22, 2021-March 20, 2022) compared to the same period in the year before, Iran’s Customs Administration spokesman said on Saturday.

Rouhollah Latifi said that Iran’s foreign trade amounted to 164 million tons of goods worth 101.6 billion dollars last winter, showing 14 percent increase in weight and 37 percent in value compared to the same period last year.

In the meantime, statistics show that foreign trade in the last winter decreased by 4 percent in weight compared to the previous three months (in autumn), while showing a 9-percent increase in value, according to Latifi.

Iran has exported 30,442,000 tons of goods worth 13.478 billion dollars in the winter which showed 10 percent increase in weight and 39 percent in value compared to the same period last year, he said.

Latifi also added that Iran has imported 11.8 million tons worth 16.71 billion dollars in that period, with 29 percent increase in weight and 35 percent in value year over year.
