Sistan and Bluchestan, Iran's South East Province, is home to some of world cultural heritages.

Sistan and Bluchestan province in south east Iran and neighboring South Khorasan, Kerman and Hormozgan provinces and having Pakistan and Afghanistan on its border is one of the vastest provinces of Iran which has embraced wide varieties of nature forms from desert to sea. Shahr-e Sukhte (Burnt city), Iran’s south east regional museum and Chabahar port are among the tourism attractions of the Province.

The extraordinary site dates back to 5000 years ago and is located near Zabol. It is considered one of the most significant archeological sites.

The real name is not known yet as contrary to common perception, the city has never been burnt and the so-called burnt city is the name that the local residents have given the place.

Among the most noticeable and significant remains that have been found in the city's excavations are the discovered numerous cemeteries around the city which has so far revealed the oldest brain surgery on a skull and the first ever artificial eyeball which belongs to a woman.

 

Country’s South East regional museum

The museum is located in Zahedan and is considered as one of the biggest museums of the country. It contains anthropological, ecological and archeological sections.
