U.S. President Joe Biden voiced support on Tuesday to speed up approval of the financial transfers needed to deliver more food and medicines to Iran through a Swiss humanitarian channel, Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis said.
Iran-Switzerland Joint Chamber of Commerce President, Sharif Nezam-Mafi told ILNA that the Trump administration uses Swiss Humanitarian Trade Arrangement (SHTA) as one of its propaganda tools.
Swiss ambassador to Tehran Markus Leitner said that we had extensive contacts with Iranian, American authorities and also Swiss banks to launch and secure the Swiss Humanitarian Trade Arrangement (SHTA).
“Swiss humanitarian channel, though limited, is a positive step towards delivering humanitarian goods to Iranians,” Managing Director of the Association of Iranian Banks in Europe Amir Alizadeh told ILNA.
