Iraqi forces are to deploy new tactics in a fresh push against Deash (Islamic State) in Mosul, military officials said on Friday, after advances slowed in the campaign to drive the militants out of their last stronghold in the country.
Iraqi forces fought their way into more districts of Mosul but advances in the city's southeast were being slowed by Deash's use of civilians for cover, military officials said on Tuesday.
Kurdish Peshmerga forces launched a fresh attack on IS (Deash) forces early on Sunday as part of a campaign to capture Mosul, the militants' de facto capital in Iraq, Kurdish officials said.
