Iranian automaker SAIPA on Thursday signed a joint venture deal with French carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroën to build and sell vehicles for its Citroen brand in the country.
Iran's second major carmaker Saipa and the French giant carmaker Citroen will sign cooperation deal next month, Mehdi Jamali, CEO of Saipa, said.
The auto giant PSA Peugeot Citroen has become the first foreign company since the Jan. 16 implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action to obtain a license from the Iranian government to invest in Iran Khodro Co. (IKCO), the biggest car manufacturer in the country; al-monitor reported.
