Kremlin Warns of Kyiv Attack as Russia’s War Momentum Fades
The Kremlin has called on foreign diplomats to leave Kyiv, warning of an imminent large-scale attack, even as some analysts suggest Russia is losing momentum in its war against Ukraine.Ppp
The warning followed a series of Russian strikes over the weekend, including the reported use of a hypersonic, nuclear-capable missile. However, observers note increasing signs that Russian forces may be struggling to maintain the initiative.
Last month marked the first time since the summer of 2024 that Russian troops lost ground to Ukrainian forces. While experts caution that some of Kyiv’s gains may be temporary, an analyst at the Institute for the Study of War said “the war is shifting in favor of Ukrainian forces,” and a recent Atlantic Council assessment similarly suggested that “the tide may be turning against Moscow.”
