Repeated Calls

Today Korean children grow up healthily, receiving dairy products and other nutritious foods from the state every day. According to the local media, the dairy products are associated with the meticulous care of Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, who intends to provide children with best things.

In the early hours of one September day of 2021 an official of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea got a call from Kim Jong Un.

The focal point of the phone conversation was powdered milk production. Kim Jong Un said that he had just dissolved and tasted the powdered milk produced for a trial in Pyongyang Municipality but he found it failing to adequately preserve the original taste and colour of milk. He also gave a detailed account of its defects in view of quality.

The Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK held a few months ago adopted a new childcare policy. At the meeting Kim Jong Un said that if the children who are born on this land and the rising generations are fed well and grow up healthily in good environment from their childhood, society will be full of that much more vibrant vim and vigour after 20 or 30 years, proposing establishing it as a Party policy to supply all the children across the country with dairy products and other nutritious foods at state expense. Accordingly, the city produced the powdered milk.

As the official was recalling the leader’s instructions, another phone call came from him.

Reiterating the dissolved milk powder, Kim Jong Un suggested reexamining its taste, colour and solubility and identifying the cause, and stressed the need to start production only after discovering the reason and completing the equipment. He then urged the official to make the powdered milk flawlessly as it is for the children.

The hands of the clock in the official’s room stood at 4:20 am.

Leader’s Pleasure

Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, finds the greatest joy in the pleasure and wellbeing of the people.

In January 2025 a splendid ceremony was held to inaugurate new regional-industry factories in Jaeryong County of the DPRK. These factories were built in the efforts to carry out the first-year tasks for implementing the Regional Development 20×10 Policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea on building modern regional-industry factories in 20 cities and counties every year.

At the inauguration ceremony, Kim Jong Un reportedly said that as he saw all the people of the region full of excitement and joy that day, he felt greater pride and dignity in waging the revolution and struggle and it made his determination firmer to identify what should be done more for the people and shoulder their implementation.

According to local media, when he visited the Pyongyang General Hospital newly built on the banks of the picturesque Taedong River in the capital city of Pyongyang in February 2025, he said with satisfaction that he was very pleased to think that the people can be completely recovered from diseases and promote their health while enjoying the most advanced medical service as well as civilized and excellent convenience, adding that the hospital is another proud asset of the DPRK which absolutely subordinates everything to promoting the people’s wellbeing.

If the people are pleased and happy, it brings pleasure and satisfaction to him.

He has many wishes and wants to do many things, and all of them are geared to providing the people with a more affluent and civilized life.

When he visited the Ryugyong General Ophthalmic Hospital, a modern medical centre built in Pyongyang, he earnestly said that he desired to have a general ophthalmic hospital on the world’s advanced level built for the people and it was his heart’s desire for them. And during his trip to the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort nearing inauguration, he told that the money spent for the good of the people is the money well spent, adding that he feels very pleased to be able to provide the people with a comprehensive and multi-functional resort and it seems that he carries on the revolution to relish such delight.

True to his people-oriented outlook, world-startling structures are constantly coming into being in the DPRK.

Mindset of Korean Society

The public sentiment in the DPRK is strikingly different from that in many countries around the world.

“The Korean people’s reverence for their leader is so extraordinary.”

“Everyone is so pleased to see their leader, bursting into cheers in tears. This can never be forced.”

“That is a mindset peculiar to the DPRK which no one can imitate and which cannot be found in any other country.”

This is part of the world’s comments on the mindset of the Korean people.

What is then their mindset actually like? A piece of song may help understand it. It is Dear Father much loved by all in the country.

The song praises Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, as dear father, comparing his affection to warm maternal care and paternal love. It was immensely popular as soon as it was created, becoming the most favourite song of the local people. This may well be a reflection of the people’s gratitude to and reverence for the leader who ardently loves them like his own flesh and blood and does everything he can for their sake.

There is a question he asks at any time and in any place: Do the people like it or not? Regarding this question as a standard, he always lends an ear to the voices of the people, values their feelings, and ensures that their anxiety, whether it is serious or trifling, is relieved without fail at any cost. Whenever he puts forward a policy or brings about an event, he always thinks first of the wellbeing and happiness that will be brought to them by his decision and practice and their results.

With such a noble outlook on the people, a few years ago he guided the operations to evacuate residents from flood-hit areas and acquainted himself with the flood damage aboard a small rubber boat.

Many dwelling houses, modern regional-industry factories, advanced hospitals and cultural and leisure facilities have mushroomed in Pyongyang and rural villages across the country, which are all an outcome of his parental love for the people.

The mindset of Korean society that absolutely trusts, follows and upholds such a leader speaks for itself.
