UAE seeks to recapture parts of southern islands of Yemen: Expert

An expert on the West Asia region has said that the Emiratis are seeking to recapture parts of the southern islands of Yemen.
The negotiations between the Yemeni and Saudi sides in Oman are actually to compensate for the delays that have occurred in Yemen, Sabah Zangeneh told ILNA.
Accordingly, Yemen's Ansarullah refused to extend the ceasefire with the Saudi coalition and refused the UN mediation during this period, he added.
The Emiratis are seeking to recapture a part of the southern islands of Yemen, and now they are raising the issue of southern Yemen, he said.
Yemen's Ansarullah will not back down from its demands and will try to fulfill them, he noted.
