Al Sudani’s main challenge is fighting corruption: Expert

The head of the Arabic center for Iranian studies has said that Iraq suffers from widespread and systematic corruption and the Iraqi new prime minister’s main challenge is fighting corruption.

Mohammad Saleh Sedghiyan told ILNA that politically, Iraq’s new cabinet is not much different from the former one because the ministers are from different parties.

He called specialization within Iraq’s new government a political growth and said that it is for the first time that three women have been appointed at the ministerial level in Iraq.

“They will be in the sensitive ministries like financial and communication that should be considered as a step forward, and I believe that choosing women can bring stability and peace back to these ministries,” he added.

In the current situation, Iraq suffers from widespread and systematic corruption, he said, adding that the main challenge of Iraq's new prime minister is fighting corruption.
