Iraqi law against Israel thwarted Western efforts: Professor
The recent move by the Iraqi parliament to criminalize normalizing ties with Israel will create a positive atmosphere in the region, an Iraqi professor said.
This is a binding and complete law that isn’t limited to espionage cases but it criminalized any cultural, political, security, economic, and military relationship with Israel, Hashem Alkandi told ILNA.
The Iraqi expert said, “The importance of this law is that it has been passed in a good situation, just when the Americans, the British, and their friends in the Persian Gulf region try to push Iraq into normalization with Israel.”
Underlining that by this law Iraq has announced opposition to normalization, he said that the Iraqi people don’t recognize the Zionist regime and they will remain a supporter of the Palestinian people.
