German Chancellor faces internal and external woes: Expert
An expert on international relations believes that From the political standpoint, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz faces many problems in internal and external policies.
Mehdi Motaharnia, an expert on international relations, said in remarks to ILNA that “it has recently been announced that German officials have doubts to travel to Ukraine. This issue shows that the situation in Berlin is not so good.”
“From the political standpoint, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz faces many problems in internal and external policies,” he continued.
Noting that the relations between Germany and Ukraine are somewhat strained, he said, “German Chancellor has faced criticisms in this country because of the Ukrainian president's stance toward Berlin.”
“He also faces foreign pressure to travel to Kyiv because of its ties with Russia,” he added.
He concluded that some European countries such as Austria are inclined toward Russia and Moscow fully assured them about energy supplies.
