Regional security meeting kicks off in Tehran

At the one-day meeting dubbed ‘Regional Security Dialogue’, the ways to fight terrorism, extremism and new threats posed by the phenomena in West Asia will be discussed.

The participants of the meeting who are national security secretaries and advisors of Iran, Russia, China, India and Afghanistan, will also hold bilateral meetings and talks, IRNA reported.

Afghanistan's current situation and Taliban movements will be discussed at multilateral meetings in Tehran.

The security officials are also planned to hold separate bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the meeting.

Keyvan Khosravi, spokesman of the Supreme national Security Council of Iran hoped that the meeting would initiate the process of building regional contributions in relation to reduce security challenges and bring back peace and prosperity to regional countries worst affected by terrorism.
