Iran, G4+1 hold ministerial meeting in New York
The ministerial meeting of Iran and G4+1 countries (Russia, China, Britain, France, Germany) was held in the United Nations to discuss the problems faced with implementation of Iran nuclear deal following US unilateral withdrawal of it.
The meeting was co-chaired by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU Foreign Policy chief Federica Mogherini.
Earlier Mogherini referred to finalizing the operational solution for meeting Iran's demands and vowed that it will be implemented.
Iran nuclear deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was signed by Iran and P5+1 including Russia, Germany, China, the UK, France, the US and the EU coordinator in 2015.
After Washington's May 8 exit from the historic Iran Deal, the US gave 90 to 180 wind-down period to other countries before it starts re-imposing oil sanctions on Tehran on November 4.
Part of the US illegitimate sanctions were imposed on Iran on August 9.
US President Donald Trump also said he would reinstate the US nuclear sanctions on Iran and impose “the highest level” of economic bans on the Islamic Republic.
This is while, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano earlier in a statement announced that Iran has complied with its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
