Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi condemned the stances by the European and US officials as well as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights about the execution of several terrorists in Iran as interference in Iran’s internal affairs.

“While Iran is itself victim of terrorism, it will do its best to maintain the safety of its citizens,” Qassemi said on Friday.

The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman expressed regret over western officials’ stances on punishment of terrorists without paying attention to their offenses, and said, “According to the information obtained from Iran’s judicial sources only some part of the offenses committed by arrested terrorists were trying to launch a terrorist group, carrying out terrorists activities inside Iran, massacre of the innocent people, specially the religious scholars, including Sunni ulemma, procurement of combat rifles and bomb-making as well as laying bombs in different parts of the cities.”

Qassemi said that accordingly, the Islamic Republic of Iran while confronting such acts calls on the western countries to resolutely join hands to uproot Takfiri and Daesh (ISIS) terrorism instead of focusing on double-standards in the fight against terrorism.
