Iran backs any solution regarding by Syrian political group
Hossein Jaberi Ansari underlined that Iran would support political solutions accepted by Syrian government, nation and political groups.
Deputy FM made the remark in a meeting with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura who has arrived in Tehran on Sunday to discuss the latest developments in Syria.
Jaberi Ansari, noting the complicated nature of the Syrian crisis and the policies by some key players in the crisis to reach their failed military goals through political means, reaffirmed that Islamic Republic’s strategy from the beginning had been urging the political solution to put an end to the Syrian crisis.
“The most important step, however, is to pay attention to realities in Syria; disregarding the political realities and the facts on the ground would lead to failure of political solution,” Jaberi Ansari said; “Iran has been a supporter of political solution for the Syrian crisis and would back solutions agreed upon by Syrian government, nation and political groups."
Iranian official and UN envoy also stressed the necessity of continuing consultations to help advancement of a political solution for Syria.
