Raisi trip to New York will help put diplomatic process on right track: Expert
An expert on diplomatic issues has said that any deal that creates a “breathing space” for Iran - in exchange for temporary and reversible concessions -is a positive achievement.
Reza Nasri said in an exclusive interview with ILNA that Iran is emphasizing the guarantee and economic benefit issues in the field of reviving the JCPOA.
It means that these two issues are on the table as the main principles and other proposed solutions and formulas are also derivatives of these principles, he added.
“For years Iran has shown its goodness but the Biden administration has not yet found the necessary courage to face the anti-JCPOA group in Washington and has always preferred domestic policy considerations over international and regional stability and the fate of the international non-proliferation regime,” he added.
At least, it is hoped that Mr. Raisi's presence in New York - and his meeting with senior Western officials - will help change the existing dynamics and put the diplomatic process on the right and positive track, he noted.
